Dylon Dyes Compliance

Information on Regulation (EC) 2024/2564 – 22. ATP and its implementation in GB CLP – Fabric Dyes

Regulation (EC) 2024/2564 was published on 30 September 2024 and amends CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 regarding the harmonised classification and labelling of certain substances. This regulation has been implemented as part of the GB CLP for specific substances.

Application date to adapt necessary changes in product labelling and sell off affected products by suppliers is 15 Aug 2026 for Great Britain.

We need to inform you that one of the relevant substances is C.I. Reactive Black 5 (CAS # 17095-24-8), which is used as ingredient in fabric dyes of Henkel Consumer Brands portfolio. The new classification of C.I. Reactive Black 5 as Resp. Sens. 1A requires an update in CLP classification and labelling of some of the dye products under brand DYLON. The affected products are listed in the annex.

Given the fact that CLP regulation requires compliance with these changes for all suppliers, we inform you that the products listed in the annex cannot be made available on the market after 15 August 2026. Therefore the sell out of all remaining stocks as soon as possible is highly recommended.

We confirm that products delivered to you from March onwards will be in compliance with the new labelling requirements.

Your Dylon Dyes Wholesale supplier will be able to provide more detailed information regarding availability dates from next month.

We confirm that any Dylon Fabric Dyes not listed in the Annex are not affected by the classification and labelling changes, therefore they can continue to be sold now and beyond the compliance deadline.

The additional text that is now included on the back of the product, which is the difference from old to new :

• “May cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled.”
• “IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a POISON CENTER/doctor.”
